Consultations | Appointments

The procedure for the initial consultation is virtually the same as with consequent visits.

Care is taken to procure all vital details of the patient’s history including current use of orthodox medications. The results of any orthodox testing procedures are viewed as very relevant to the patient’s presenting health status.

The patient would then undergo one or more of the useful diagnostic procedures used at MEDICUS as requested by their Naturopathic Physician.

Consultation
These include:
  • Allergy Testing
  • Blood Testing
  • Body Composition Testing
  • Electro-Meridian Imaging
  • Faecal Analysis
  • Hair Analysis
  • Iris Diagnosis
  • Physical Exam & Palpation
  • Screening Procedures
  • Ultrasound
  • Urine & Saliva Testing
  • X-Ray
Please note that some of the above mentioned methods of analyses require the involvement of the orthodox profession (as Marcus and Gaylene are not medical practitioners). If further testing is required samples may be sent away to be analysed by a medical testing laboratory.

At MEDICUS all testing procedures are regarded as important because they give precise scientific parameters in order to treat the patient specifically and progressively. Treatment may even be complementary to that already being given by a GP or Specialist. In this case an interactive relationship between the Naturopathic Physician and the Orthodox Practitioner is valuable, although this is not always possible.

Though some paperwork is necessary to begin treatment, our goal is to expedite this process prior to your visit. We provide a service that allows you to complete the majority of your paperwork in the comfort of your own home.

Clinic Hours

MEDICUS is open Monday to Friday. The first appointment time is 9:30am, and the latest time is 7:00pm. MEDICUS may, however, take appointments outside these hours – please ask.

To make an appointment or to ask how we can help you, please call 9851 6600 or use the Appointment Enquiry Form located on our homepage. If we don’t answer during business hours we are probably with another patient, so please leave a message or send us an email and we will endeavour to reply within the hour.

Arrival Time

For your first appointment we ask you to arrive 5 minutes early to fill out a medical history form. If you are running late, we appreciate a quick courtesy phone call as it will affect appointments following yours.

How long is a treatment?

We advise allowing at least one hour for your initial visit. If you are pressed for time, please inform us on arrival and we will adjust the length of treatment accordingly.

For your subsequent visits we recommend you allow 45 minutes to one hour.

What if I need to cancel?

We take pride in running a professional clinic and offering our patients the highest quality care possible.

We understand that at times it may be difficult to keep your appointment. To be fair to us and our other patients, all we ask is that you provide us with at least 24 hrs notice if you are unable to attend. This way we can accommodate other patients who also require treatment.

For short-notice (less than 24 hours) cancellations or missed appointments you may be charged the full appointment fee.

Consultation

Consultations are by appointment only.

We try very hard to adhere to appointments, however, the nature of naturopathic medicine is that emergencies and circumstances sometimes mean we run behind time.

We apologize for any inconvenience delays may cause.
